The Catcher in the Rye

Well what happened was that I couldn't get "Howl's Moving Castle" so instead I took out the book "The Catcher in the Rye". It is an ok book and all, but the story is going nowhere in the first four chapters. Also the book uses a repitition of the words chrissake, goddam, hell and many other phrases a lot, so the story gets sort of redundant and boring. It seems as if so far that 16 year old Holden Caulfield isn't the best student at Pency because he is failing every single class besides English but he might change and become a better student later. So far the story is boring, but since its the beginning of this book, I guess it could get better. The plot needs to be more interesting in the beginning. It doesn't make me feel like reading it. He's talking about his whole life story......

I hate it when a story starts off boring and dull. Why do authors do that? They should start it off interesting to keep readers hooked. I agree w/ bigxmanx that you should give a book a chance, but only when you know something good will happen. Terrific job with your blog!

lol, i dislike it when a book starts off very boring. However it is said to be a great book. So I assume that it could get better, as you progress through the story. I really like your description of the main character and his problems. Great job, keep up the nice blogs.
